I love mascara, but rarely rebuy a mascara. Somehow this product is the one that turns over the most quickly in my makeup bag but I've yet to find a favorite. Possibly until this one.
A few previous repurchases include:
- Lawless One and Done (probably my most repurchased - love the full lash it gives but it's a little too thick and feels like it dries up quickly as you use it, I don't love silicone brushes and it's tricky to take off)
- Saie Mascara 101 (went through quite a few tubes of this and still use the initial launch lilac eyelash curler every day, but its too 'clean' and natural feeling, not quite enough volume, don't love the silicone brush and comes off too easily meaning it's easy to remove at night but it also often makes it way down to my under eyes before the end of the day)
- In the past I went through my fair share of CoverGirl LasBlast (again don't love the silicone brush and it now feels like it irritates my eyes when I try to go back to it)
- Lastly way way back was the Korres Volcanic Mascara (now discontinued, but had the very best toothbrush style bristle brush that gave an old school makeup application feel when you wiggled between each eyelash)
It is not lost on me that the price points of the mascaras here go from $12 to $25 to $45. I've eyed the Westman Artelier Eye Want You Mascara for a while now but have hesitated because of the extra $20 price point. Recently I caved and it honestly is a really. good. mascara.
Never have I ever seen the toothbrush bristle brush of the Korres mascara come back (I literally have an old Korres mascara saved for the someday in my dreams when I make my own Otho Cosmetics Sooty Mascara and can use it as a benchmark for the best brush ever). Westman Artelier's wand is bristly and prickly in the best way. It feels real. It feels like what mascara is supposed to feel like.
The formula is also creamy and dark and coats your lashes fully without feeling clumpy or drying too quickly to add a second coat. It can even take an extra coat at the end of the day before dinner without looking like a spider. It stays on your lashes for a full day but also comes off without too much tugging on your eyes when you take it off.
However the weighty red tube is my favorite part. It is made of metal and feels substantial and beautiful. Only dislike is the handle. It is very small and chic and unique, but honestly kind of hard to hold on to. More of a pinch with the ends of your fingers to hold on vs the traditional space allotted to the handle of a mascara wand.
Have you tried it? What's your favorite mascara?
PS side note - somehow our email marketing list went from 15 to 115 in the last few days - not sure how that came about but hi and so glad you're here! Big prayers you're having a good day and a big thank you for visiting.
xx
