I love when you hear things twice. I wrote a little while ago about reassurance when you hear things more than once, and it happened again today at church.
Last week I’d been reading “The Worry-Free Parent” by Sissy Goff, and she mentions Genesis 50:19-21. Today our pastor talked about Joseph and also mentioned this passage. I had it saved as my phone screen and it just feels good to hear things more than once. Reiteration feels like confirmation that you should pay attention to what you’re hearing. Like God wants you to listen. Anything you’ve heard twice lately?
Genesis 50:19-21
"But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them."
Also I love that ending - he reassured them and spoke kindly to them. Kind words are like honey.
