More on Substack here, but thinking today on how beauty is fun, not fulfilling. Did anyone else read the Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty book? Reminiscing on how much I enjoyed the hobby of beauty, prior to it being a 'given' in my every day or a 'need to' in order to feel beautiful. Leaning into the hobby of beauty and bringing back a little fun :)
Proverbs 31:30 says 'Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.' Beauty is fleeting! It's a lovely hobby, but it does not define our worth and won't feel good when its placed as the highest priority of our hearts. God made us beautifully and to appreciate beauty, but not to worship beauty. Here's to letting a hobby be a hobby, and enjoying the fun in beauty!
