Back with another round of weekly updates of what I’ve been working on for Otho.
This week…
I. Very little for the second week in a row to be honest. It’s easier to write about the weeks when lots of stuff happens, but giving myself grace as our family adjusts to this new schedule and looking forward to progress when I’m ready.
II. Have a meeting for our sister cleaning brand today that I’m really excited about!! Working with the Creative Director who has been helping on Otho, and cannot wait to bring home essentials an elegance fit for the China cabinet vs the closet. Similar to in beauty and fragrance, I’ve done a full overhaul of our house over the last year in an attempt to help my son’s eczema and have been learning what our new normal will look like. Not quite homestead and not quite high rise has been a theme regardless of category and hits both cleaning and beauty in our house.
III. Currently snuggling with my little preschooler while writing this and appreciating a season of mostly stay at home mom work and a small amount of office work. Knowing that God can make much out of little and that my small consistent seeds of work on Otho will grow to something big if it’s Gods will, not because of my own doing.
VI. One personal one - my grandparents (Grandma & Punk) always made the yummiest cake growing up. I asked them for their recipe because I remember licking the frosting from the spatula and was surprised to find out the cake was good ‘ol Dunkin Heins chocolate cake mix with homemade frosting. At first I went to look up a homemade cake recipe but then decided to enjoy the nostalgia and go for the box. Maybe next time I’ll try a homemade version but for now this one felt extra special. While my daughter and I were making the frosting I fully poofed the powdered sugar everywhere and it gave us a good laugh.

V. Wait one more! Appreciating the texture of my grandparents homemade buttercream frosting recipe made me extra excited for our Body Buttercream. A simple buttercream frosting is always my favorite and bringing that indulgent and comforting texture into Otho feels extra special. With a sweet little flower sprinkles heart on top.
