I. Realized I've been writing on this blog consistently for almost a year now and was going off of the Atomic Habits notion that doing anything consistently for over a year is likely to yield results. Added Substack to the mix about half a year ago maybe, and now decided to try adding TikTok. I'm not a personal fan of TikTok, I get too sucked in so deleted Instagram and never got into TikTok. But I love inventing and talking about inventing so trying video out as another way to do so. Come hang out on TikTok here @othoatelier or also YouTube @aubreestrelic.
II. Realizing that even though I don't love the doom scrolling feeling of TikTok, I do love live selling. My family has been going on-air to sell our inventions for years, and I love the ease that TikTok brings to that space. My dad actually had the idea for a live selling social platform for years ago and it's been crazy seeing TikTok (and others) bring that to life. Social platform first followed by live shopping definitely is a fit that makes sense.
III. My dad's birthday was yesterday, and it reminded me of one time when we were selling garden products on The Shopping Channel in Canada and he had his birthday while we were on-air together selling fountains and garden hoses. My favorite part of working was getting to spend time with my dad, and that is such a good memory of that season of life.
IV. My garden roses are blooming right now and they are such little happy additions to my kitchen counter, my kids dressers, my nightstand and anywhere I can put them. Currently blooming are my David Austin Evelyn roses, Bathsheba roses, and Home Depot Iceberg roses. All nestled around our luxury beeswax candle. Each has its own fragrance notes and I loveee smelling each to see how they compare to each other and the wild beeswax too.
