Follow Ups XXXIV

Hi hi,

This week…

I. Had an opportunity to go to a book signing for Shea McGee’s new cookbook and was able to meet a few members of her team. They were all so kind and I loved getting to meet the people who help create the content I so enjoy watching!

II. Continued to work on the marketing side of Otho, in full transparency I’ve been very consistent at writing this blog for over a year and have seen very little traction from it, so am incorporating video and a few other potentials. Also full disclosure feeling a little burnt out by my nap time dream - I actually enjoy creating these little posts and have really enjoyed trying long format videos, but am pushing my current bandwidth. Praying for wisdom on what to keep and what to pause or let go of for a time.

III. One thing I respect about Studio McGee is their openness to share the details that other companies don’t share. I would like to do that for beauty - I’ve thought about making our ingredients and percentages on the label so people actually know how much of an ingredient they’re paying for in their product. There is a term in the beauty industry called “fairy dusting” and it means sprinkling tiny amounts of an ingredient in to get the ingredient on the label. I’ve been offered that option and kindly said I want to make sure all things included are with a purpose, but I’d like to take it a step further to prove that to customers. The factory said no one does it, and that made me want to do it all the more.

xx
