There are so many lotions out there, does there really need to be another one? I'm not sure, but am thinking on it for a few reasons. Natural fragrances seem to smell off on my skin. I love the concept of natural fragrance, and understand the supposed downsides of synthetic but have a hard time letting go of how much better they smell. In the bottle, after I put them on, and overall synthetic fragrances just seem to work better. I want a yummy natural vanilla santal scent that is sweet but grounded. Maybe other people also have a want for a natural scent that just smells better? When we invent we look for white space, and that is such a small area I don't think it has legs to stand on its own, but I do think it's an important part of the overall product.
If you search the aisles of Nordstrom and Sephora, my two favorite places to look for cosmetics, everything is focused on anti-aging and smoothing and hydrating. There is very little mentioning eczema (more now than there used to be), herpes, psoriasis and overall sensitive skin. Those terms are mostly for the drug store, but I have to be honest I just don't want to buy lotion at CVS or Rite Aid. Somehow the drug store formulas feel watery and bouncy and gelatinous instead of creamy, buttery and indulgent. This does feel like a large white space to me, and something that I think would bring value to the space. Acknowledging and including the drug store style concerns in the luxury beauty aisles. Anything you'd like to see in your dream lotion?
