Follow Ups XXIII

Hi hi,

Hope your week is going well! This week…

I. Put together the details behind how much our first order for launching Body Fat and Vegan Body Fat would entail. The shipper, retail box, primary packaging, goop, labor, molds, marketing and all of the little pieces that compile to make the product come to life.

II. Have been letting go of (or more like putting pause on) the cut crystal style packaging I’ve been dreaming of. With our initial order we’re looking at hopefully around 1k units per sku, and pretty custom cut glass has an MOQ closer to around 10k units. Leaning into just starting even if it’s a little different than how I imagined, and trusting that someday we could create the glassware experience for you vanity when the time comes.

III. In lieu of that, leaning into beautiful wallpapers and textural experiences that can be created via a label at smaller MOQs. Dreaming of artfully folding the label like a pleated lamp shade vs the standard slapped on their sticker. Or unique textures that you can experience visually and absorb your hand as you pick them up, the way good curtains change the acoustics of the room. Honing in on the acoustics of your pretty little vanity tray. Maybe the jar will sound different when you set it down with a textured label that it does with a simple sticker?

IV. It’s 75 and sunny in San Diego and feels like spring even though it’s mid winter. Getting excited to start gardening this year and try more varieties from seeds. Last year our favorites were carrots, cosmos and hollyhocks.

V. My brother is getting married this year and I found a vintage original LoveShackFancy Love dress on Poshmark for like $50. When I got married I’d looked at this dress for my bridesmaids and it’s one of the few details of my wedding I might change in hindsight. I was so excited to see it in person! The hand dyed silk puddles and moves and is so darn pretty. The way you want a morning lotion to feel - silky and creamy but barely there. Using this feeling for inspiration for our Dirty Mushroom Body Milk we’ve been dreaming up for a morning milky silky ritual. Silky Milk? Milky Silk? Thick at night and thin in the morning is how I like my lotions.

xx
